KIWANIS is a global organization of volunteers
dedicated to improving the world
one child and one community at a time.
December 7, 2018 marks the 82nd anniversary of the Lomita-Harbor City Kiwanis Club, celebrating 82 years of serving the Lomita and Harbor City California areas.
When our club was chartered in 1936, the Lomita and Harbor City area was a farming town with oil wells from Long Beach to Redondo Beach. A group of local merchants started our Club to better the community.
The Lomita-Harbor City Kiwanis Club consists of four entities.
1. Lomita- Harbor-City Kiwanis Club is a 501(c)(4) Non-Profit California Corporation.
2. The "Foundation" is a separate California corporate entity named "Lomita Kiwanis Foundation", a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit, Charitable California Corporation/Foundation.
3. The third legal entity that we have is the "Lomita Kiwanis Scholarship Trust Fund", a California Charitalbe Trust registered with both the California Secretary of State and the California Registry of Charitalbe Trusts with the California Attorney General's Office.
4. The fourth legal entity, the "Lomita Kiwanis Gardens, Inc." a 501(c)(3) California Corporation is our senior/retirement living facility comprised of 72 individual independent senior residential units.
