Tony Goorchenko joined the Torrance Kiwanis Club in 1991 and almost immediately took a leadership role. He served numerous terms as a director and as was a club president. In 2015 Tony stepped back in as our club secretary after serving several years before at this position. Tony also served as the Division 19 secretary which oversees 14 Kiwanis Club is the South Bay. Many division Lieutenant Governors said they would not have ran for office without Tony running the operation as Division secretary. Tony as an alumni of Bishop Montgomery High school, did not hesitate to volunteer when the club needed a Kiwanis advisor for their Key Club. Tony trained Kiwanis Club secretaries throughout the Kiwanis California-Nevada-Hawaii District for the last 15 years. This scholarship is to honor the leadership Tony brought to Kiwanis and the youth in our community.
